Here is the new Mahindra XUV 500 with lots of features and great styling Sports Utility Vehicle. Mahindra XUV 500 is a first time in Indian manufacturer is producing a global SUV .  Yes! Iam talking about the M&M XUV 500. M&M took a very good effort to make a muscular SUV , applying new technology and styling is really sexy.  The XUV has a very aggressive look about. Front has a typical M&M grill but that’s a small portion that sits the top of very large bumper they cuts flowing out like a cats whisker.  The headlights have two balls like lamps underline like dots by the daytime running LED lights. The side profile is less  worked to give it a premium look on it. Three almost equal glass areas , it  makes it little more MUV than an SUV. But there are the really large bulging circular portions above the wheel arches, that are there to remind you that this is all muscle. Radial tubeless  P235/65 R17 tires are used.  The rear of the car has a smallish glass area and a small bumper with large tail lamp area. The highlight here is the tail light with the horizontally divides into four sections.  The top of the tail lamp is slightly runs over to the side. You sometimes feel that there is too much styling in may be less could be more but when you see the overall picture it definitely makes you turn around and give it a second look.

There is a lot of funky stuff on the interior of the XUV 500 as well. In the interior it is very nice as well is the good solid feel with which these doors closed, nice chunk which feel solid and really very good.  On the inside it's not quite as global as we expected. In the interiors are really a mix of very nice bits and some bits that disappointed. The interior is up of black and brown and there is so many bits of black and brown that it all felt a bit too much. Also the black area on the dash and the top of the doors with its soft touch texture look is much richer in appearance than the brown making a glaring contrast between the two. Central console follows a waterfall design with a wooden finish in the center hitch by two chrome plastic strips.  These strips cause a reflection is quite disturbing to the driver. The plastic on the buttons on the center console again another brown plastic makes it little cheap. Overall its too many textures and finish interior.

There are many nice bits on the inside as well the speedometer is circle within circle surrounded by a nice chrome ring. There is  a touch screen multimedia display which comes with the higher end and has a very nice quality Audio and A/C.  For the high end you also get the satellite navigation and you can addon a video function.  The music system has USB and Aux connectivity too.  The A/C vents are the another very nicely designed feature allowing good air flow. There are storage just about everywhere on the inside and you will never lack for a place to keep stuff.  The only place where the space is lacking is on the boot. With seven seats up there is no space but you always have the option of folding down the seats to accommodate luggage.  At the other end under the hood is the mHawk engine which has been upped in power and now has a 140bhp with 33.33 kgm of torque. The mHawk engine is the engine that we always really like and it seems extremely nice in XUV 500. This is like because of its construction and off course the power has been up. It is a very refined engine. When you are cruising you don’t hear it at all. This engine is very comfortable in city traffic or on the highway. It’s a pretty enjoyable and you never lack of power.  This engine is made up to a six feet gear box which requires are a little more effort to use them we would like. The second gear in particular feels notchy and it is a little too far back when you shift. Well that’s about performance. But those of you worried about the economy there is a stop /start feature that can be activated by a button on the center console. Coming to milage, M&M claim that this vehicle has an average of 15.1km/l.

This car maintains stable even at a high speed and when you wanted to do harder cornering , the steering gives you a lot of feedback, the body control is quite good and you never feel unsafe.  The tire seems wouldn’t offer enough grip. The steering too is not entirely consistent around corners but that’s when you are cornering really hard. Now the XUV may not have the stunt of the Endeavour and the Fortuner but though it is compact in its exterior dimensions, the kind of space it offers on the inside is really incredible.  So if you are looking SUV, that the Fortuner and the Endeavor are too big and bulky and may be out of reach and on the other side you don’t want an MUV, well the XUV 500 is just the answer. The Mahindra XUV 500 priced between Rs. 10.8 lakh and 11.95 lakh.
